Bend Superintendent Gets OGA Honor

Scott Moffenbeier, a longtime golf superintendent in Central Oregon who is currently at Bend Golf Club, has been named the Oregon Golf Association’s superintendent of the year for 2018.

According to a Bend Golf Club release announcing the honor, Moffenbeier joined the private southeast Bend facility in 2017 after 10 years as superintendent across town at Broken Top Club. He graduated from Oregon State University’s turfgrass management program in 1998, the release said, and has worked at a number of courses in Oregon, including a stint from 1999 to 2005 as an assistant superintendent at Bend Golf Club.

Moffenbeier is a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, according to the release.

The OGA’s description of the award states that it “recognizes a member of the OGCSA (Oregon Golf Course Superintendents Association) for outstanding contributions to the environment, the game of golf, the community or the Oregon Golf Association.”
